Hybrid Page 2 Preview
I've had way too much eating, drinking & playing with the kids new toys over Christmas to do any drawing, so here's a page from the Hybrid story from issue 1 of Lightning Strikes Presents...
Hope everyone had a good one!

This is a test page for a (yet another) project i want to get round to at some stage. Its called Adventures in Woowoo, and is a semi auto-biographical trip through metaphysic thought and new age practice.
And remember All my digital comics are available to download FREE for the next few days. Happy Christmas bit.ly/t5G1iC
Happy Christmas.

Batman Vs. Predator
No new art this week on account of drunkenly knackering my hand over the weekend so here's an older piece with one of my favourite crossover subjects, Batman Vs. Predator. Any chance of Batman Vs. Predator IV please, DC?

Bane
Just in case I haven't told everybody yet, I won an award! I won best artist in The Arcarde.ie's readers choice awards.I also come runner-up in the best writer category, so a massive thank-you to everyone who voted.
So here's a half-hour Bane I did just in pencils (first time in a long time I haven't inked something). I may colour this at some point in the future & post it up. And since this is my last post before the man in red tries to break into my house, have a Merry Christmas everyone!

Optimus Prime
I'm not usually one for plugging mainstream comics, but this is one I want to keep an eye out for. As a couple of you might know, I'm a bit of a Transformers fan. Waaay back in the 80s (when I was only a wee lad), Marvel was publishing comics and did about 80 issues in the US. IDW, who currently produce TF comics, are picking up that storyline next year from issue 81. So why am I plugging it? Well, IDW are using the exact same creative team from the 80s run- with the exception of a new colourist, fellow long-time transformers fan John-Paul Bove, who's work has featured on the Sketchpaddys blog before. So congrats JP.
I'm finished my artwork for Lightning Strike Presents... Issue 1, and I'm back drawing robots myself for a little while, so to kick things off here's Optimus Prime, the Mack Daddy. Well, the Freightliner Daddy, if you want to get technical...

Character design Line work and experiments for New Project
Trying something different this week.
I have been spending a lot of time recently working on my new, as yet unnamed, project. This will be all done in the traditional way with paper and ink rather than my usual method of using Manga Studio.
So here are some pages of character design, ink tests and pen tests.
If you go to http://www.irishcomicnews.com/tommie-kellys-comic-project
You will see some finished Promo Art too.

90s "Gritty Reboot" Santa
"Ring! Ring!"
"Hello, Image Comics. How can we make your day more extreme?"
"Err, Hello. This is Santa Claus. I'm hoping you can help me with something. I need a new look. You see, the kids these days are losing interest in the old-fashioned Christmas traditions. Its all "Turtle this" and "Sega Mega Drive that". I think I need a bit of an update, to keep up with the times."
"I think we can definitely help with that. It seems you need a Gritty Reboot. Did you have anything in mind?"
"Well, I did hear the kids talking about something called a Spawn and a Deadpool. Maybe something along those lines?"
"Sure. We can hook you up with our Liefield package. You get superfulous muscles and several hundred pouches. Unfortunately you will end up without any usable feet."
"Oh, I kind of need those. I do a lot of climbing up chimneys..."
"Thats no problem, we can get Jim Lee to do your feet. Though it will be extra."
"Ah, what the hell. I'm sure a few kids can live without their Tamagotchis this year..."
Don't ask. I've had a lot of coffee today.

TF Movie version Rumble
I'm really up against it at the minute with finishing off my Lightning Strikes stuff and day-job work, so I'm posting up an oldie today. This is an entry to a contest to design a movie-version of an old TF character. I didn't win anything, but I like it anyway

Doctor Doom
Possibly the greatest supervillain of all time, Victor Von Doom is a combination of Iron Man and Doctor Strange who owns his own country. Beat that, Lex Luthor.

Rogue Trooper
Apparently theres a movie in the works of everyones favourite Genetic Infantryman, and rumour has it Sam Worthington is in talks to play him. Maybe he just has a thing for playing blue dudes. He must be pissed he missed out on the Smurfs gig...

Moon Knight
The current Moon Knight series by Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev is fantastic, give it a shot if you haven't already. He's a notoriously difficult character to nail down and they've done a wonderful job of making the audience root for a crazy person.

Holy Topical Issue, Batman!
Since hearing about Frank Millers views on the Occupy Wall St. protests, his version of Batman suddenly makes a lot more sense to me. But hey, he's got everyone talking about himself again, so job done Mr. Miller!

Batman & Robin
I flat out love the Damian Wayne Robin, even though I thought Batman having a son not the greatest idea at first. goes to show everyone deserves a chance.
