PROHIBITION
A new crime novel I illustrated recently!
Airship 27 Productions proudly
announces the release of their 16th and final title of the year;
PROHIBITION by Terrence McCauley.
The year is 1930 and New York is a city on the edge. The Roaring
'20s ended with the Stock Market Crash and the Great Depression is only
beginning. Banks are failing. Companies are closing their doors. Breadlines
grow longer by the day. The only market making money is the black market:
racketeering, rum running, and speakeasies. But when even those vices
begin to weaken, the most powerful gangster on the Eastern Seaboard, Archie
Doyle, sees the writing on the wall. He launches a bold scheme that, if
successful, will secure his empire’s future beyond Prohibition. Beyond even the
Great Depression.
But when a mysterious rival attempts to
kill Doyle’s right hand man, a dangerous turf war begins to brew. With his
empire under attack, Doyle turns to his best gun, former boxer Terry Quinn, for
answers. Quinn must use his brains as well as his brawn to uncover who is
behind the violence and why before Doyle’s empire comes crashing down.
Beautifully illustrated by Rob Moran who
also provides the cover as colored by Shannon Hall with designs by Rob Davis,
PROHIBITION is a tough-guy blow to the literary gut readers will not soon
forget.

Another comparison
I will always prefer stark black and white to color of any kind. But this is about as close as I am comfortable. At least the blood stands out. This is from Garbage Day. Due out early 2013 from Arcana.

Girly Woman Saturday Time
I just realized how horribly womanly most of my posts are compared to the rest of the Paddys. I know this is probably because I'm a girl, but still. This week, I am going to work on the manliest piece of art any of you have ever seen, and I will deploy the beast next Saturday.
Man Time.

Sketch Book Pages
Hey folks! First off, thanks SO much to everyone who voted for the Sketch Paddys in the ICN Awards <3
Like any artist, I'm constantly updating my sketchbook, so here's a few pages from it so you can see all the things I doddle! x
Speed drawin'
Now for something completely different. This is a speed drawing I did with wash markers and brush pen. By "speed" I mean about 40 minutes. I'm using it as a breakdown for a cover I'm working on. I can honestly say this was more fun than I've had drawing in months.
